Lake Neusiedl is Austria’s most popular surfing, kite-surfing and sailing area. With a water depth of no more than 1.80 metres, it has ideal conditions for first-timers and learners. Should the breeze become all too fierce or your muscle power wane, the water is shallow enough for you to either relax a little just standing with your feet on the ground or to make your way to shore on foot. No less popular: standup paddleboarding and kayaking on the lake. Canoeing on the Leither river is also becoming a favourite pastime these days.
