Surprises between the Earth and the Sky

Remember to bring your binoculars when visiting Lake Neusiedl. There is so much to see in this unique natural landscape, and even more to experience. Lake Neusiedl, which expands over a full 320 km², forms the centre of the colourful spectacle. Over 300 bird species find shelter from wind and weather in its dense reed belt. Bird watchers from every corner of the world gather here to experience this impressive diversity first-hand. If you want to see even more, you would do well to make use of the extensive nature-focused programmes on offer, which whisk you off to the most beautiful outdoor experiences around Lake Neusiedl. Expand your knowledge of animals and plants in the transnational Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park southeast of the lake, Neusiedler See-Leithagebirge Nature Park on the western shore, and in the Rust Hills and nearby Leitha Wetlands. Ideally, join a guided excursion, hike or canoe trip.
