Gols

The frontier municipality of Gols lies on the southern slope of the Parndorf Plateau on the edge of the Hungarian Plain. The microclimate is significantly influenced by Lake Neusiedler, only 4 km away.


Gols is the largest wine producing village in Austria. Almost 55% of the over 3,800 inhabitants are engaged in viticulture, and of whom for about half of them it is the main occupation. The Gols Folk Festival with the most important fair in the region, the Pannonia, and its varied attractions brings over 100,000 visitors annually to Gols.
