Trausdorf on the Wulka

TRAUSDORF: LOVEABLE and LIVEABLE

Trausdorf an der Wulka is a typical Burgenland/Croatian resort in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung District in the immediate neighbourhood of Eisenstadt, the provincial capital. The municipality spreads out along the Wulka, on the edge of the Hutweide and around the two lakes leisure amenity, where bathing can take place. One’s eye wanders over vineyards and fields to the Leitha Hills and Rosalia Mountain. Schneeberg and Rax rise up in the distance, mighty and frequently snow-covered. Only a few kilometres away, the waves of Lake Neusiedler breaking on its shore.

On a walk through Trausdorf’s “Hofgassen”, past the typical Burgenland gabled houses, the visitor is willingly drawn into the calmness of the village. The sculptures which can be seen along the “Mile of Art by the Wulka” arose out of the international sculptors symposiums between 2011 and 2013. Characteristic of the views of the village are the late baroque parish church (1767) with its roccoco gravestones, the columns at the Pestsäule (1680) and the Dreifaltigkeitssäule (1838) as well as the so-called Pope’s Cross, which was erected on the occasion of the visit by Pope John Paul II in 1988. In Trausdorf an der Wulka you will find everything you need for your well-being: A functioning village community, relaxing natural spaces, fully developed infrastructure, and food and drink for every taste.
